Southeast Florida's largest state park — paddle the Loxahatchee, hike, bike, and climb Hobe Mountain.

Just north of Jupiter, Jonathan Dickinson State Park spans more than 10,000 acres of pine scrub, river, and wilderness. Paddle or take the Loxahatchee Queen boat tour up the wild Loxahatchee River to the historic Trapper Nelson site, hike or bike miles of trails, and climb the Hobe Mountain tower for one of the highest views in South Florida. Entry is just $6 per vehicle, and concession kayaks, canoes, and bikes are available to rent.

A full day of Old Florida nature — camping available too.

Entry $6 per vehicle (2-8 people), $4 single-occupant, $2 pedestrian/cyclist. Open 8 a.m. to sundown, 365 days a year.
Loxahatchee River boat tours: River Tour $27 adults / $16 kids 3-12; Trapper Tour (stops at Trapper Nelson) $32 adults / $17 kids. Tide-dependent — call 561-746-1466.
Don't miss the Hobe Mountain observation tower for a 360-degree view — the highest natural point in South Florida.
Rentals: single kayaks ~$25 for 2 hours, canoes ~$32, bikes ~$12-$35/hr. Camping around $26/night; cabins $80 (summer) to $95 (winter).
