Limestone bluffs that spout seawater skyward at high tide — one of Jupiter's most photographed spots.

Blowing Rocks Preserve, on Jupiter Island, protects the largest Anastasia limestone outcropping on the U.S. Atlantic coast across 73 acres. During winter storms and big high tides, surging water forces through holes in the rock and plumes up to 50 feet in the air. Native-plant trails and a quiet beach round out this Nature Conservancy preserve, which asks a $2 per person donation.

Go on a day with rough seas at high tide for the dramatic spray.

Before you go

CLOSED as of July 2026 — the Nature Conservancy has it shut after storm damage with no reopening date announced. Check nature.org the morning you plan to go.
Suggested $2 per person donation (cash or card) at the kiosk supports the preserve.
Normal hours are daily 9am–4:30pm (last entry 4:15pm); closed major holidays.
No dogs, coolers, picnics, grills or drones — it's a preserve, not a beach day. No lifeguard, and the limestone is sharp.
Free on-site parking, but it's limited and often full by late morning on weekends — overflow at Coral Cove Park a mile south.
The 'blowing rocks' effect needs rough seas plus high tide — best in winter; summer brings calm water for swimming.
