Jupiter
A hands-on riverfront nature center in Burt Reynolds Park — aquariums, a touch tank, and weekly kids' programs.
The River Center is the Loxahatchee River District's education center inside Burt Reynolds Park, and it's Jupiter's easiest indoor win with young kids. More than 6,000 gallons of fresh- and saltwater aquariums trace the Loxahatchee from cypress swamp to seagrass estuary to the reefs outside Jupiter Inlet — the famous sandbar is literally part of the exhibit sequence — and a touch tank lets kids meet the critters up close. The center itself says to plan on 30 minutes to an hour, and that's about right. This is a stop, not a whole afternoon.
Story time on Thursday mornings is free, and the calendar stays busy the rest of the week — camps, homeschool workshops, fishing clinics, kayak tours, and a monthly lecture series. Because it sits inside Burt Reynolds Park, it pairs naturally with the playground, a picnic shelter, or a paddle from the park's launch.
